shotgun recommendations for a newbie?

What do you guys recommend for a newcomer to trap & skeet?
A pump to start off? Or a semi, maybe a Rem 1100?

The Remington 1100 will do you just fine.Lots of stocks and barrels available so you can build the gun in any configuration.Kind of like a modular gun.It's also as soft a shooting gun as you'll find.My daughters use an 1100 to shoot trap with.That and a Limbsaver Pad and they say that the recoil is negligable.

Rem 1100 is fine or even a 870 trap. In fact I believe there is one for sale from Dennis Crisp. Check the exchange forum.

Any semi-automatic with chokes. Modified and tighter for trap, Improved Cylinder and more open for skeet. A Remington 1100 is a good choice. It can be used to shoot all the games.
