Shotgun slugs

I normally only ever shoot 1oz shotugn slugs...if I was to shoot 1 1/8 oz slugs would there be much of a difference in point of impact...meaning would I have to aim differently/sight in a scope again? Basically will I have to "re-learn" a new shooting tech. with a slightly heavier slug or will they shoot the same?

It depends on the manufacturer of the ammo you choose as there is a wide range of velocities that slugs are loaded to and a wide range of shapes that slugs come in. But the best advice is to check the zero of your gun anytime you change the make, bullet weight, bullet style or for that matter the lot number of the ammo you previously sighted in with.

Short answer, yes your point of impact will probably drop requiring an adjustment to your scope.

Long answer, very likely, but amount may be insignificant.
Heavier projectiles tend to be shot at a slower speed. The slower speed and the increased mass tend to cause the projectile to drop quicker. Add to that, the shape of the two slugs. Do they have the same ballistic coefficient?

That being said, it really depends on the actual slugs you are using. Shoot and sight in the heavier slug, the lighter slug may only be slightly high at your sight in distance. This could allow you to use both with one scope setting.
