I went and tested some patterns in my mossburg 500, had an ic choke in it, tryed out black cloud and other federal steel shot ammo, looked at the primers today and all were flattened and were bulged out, took a pic, wondered whats going on with it?
Those don't look too bad. In my opinion Black Cloud is loaded to borderline pressures. I have experienced extraction issues and terrible patterns from those loads. Primer flattening is normal. I don't shoot black cloud anymore. I do know some hunting friends who like it. To each his own.
Those are normal. Mossbergs have sloppy firing pin holes. Black cloud is for not so good wing shooters hence the wide patterns caused by the ringed bbs
