instead of steel or paper or clays?

what about poly or lexan plates? trying to get round the shrouding pain in ass

I've never seen a match where they shroud steel for shotgun.

Maybe a thick rubber in the place of a steel plate, but only if it can withstand being shot by every competitor without changing its characteristics.
That way its a consistent target presentation for everyone.

But really though, steel plate, clays for frangibles, paper for slug/buck is hard to beat.

Ideally a self re setting target is what I like.
Plates need to be picked up and put back on their stands

Or have you forgotten already... LoL

You got that in writing ? I am due for a sit Dow. With the CFO soon will bring it up

Hey ... I've been to the Rock Cut shooting club... You're so far out there you shouldn't have to shroud anything!
Trees and rocks man... Trees and rocks.

Yet it says all steel to be shrouded in our range papers

When did you shoot there last?

It's been a few years... LoL

The misquided rational behind the idea of shrouding steel targets is to prevent material, spatter etc from "leaving the range"...
My guess is that even the CFO realizes that birdshot has such a limited range and the mass of individual pellets is so low that they do not present much of a hazard even "if" they somehow "left the range"... Hell, I've been on ranges where shot rained down upon us from the trap shooters... Didn't seem to be a problem for the CFO to approve that club...
IIRC Rock Cut is pretty much nowhere near anything except the aformentioned "rocks and trees"... I don't see how a bit of spatter or even the odd Rick O'shea could be a hazard...
