Shotgun target load best prices?

My dad & I bought 7 flats each of Rio target loads @ lawrys. $61.95 a flat.

If some could comprehend what they read or read the entire opening post they would have noticed he asked right off the hop for anywhere in bc to buy ammo!!

I caught it "right of the hop" as you say ... just trying to help by getting him to edit his profile. Was a little surprised at the bc instead of BC though.

I bought several flats (10 boxes) of Fed. GM papers at the Grand in 2000 for $ 50 / flat while they same up here were nearly $ 80 ... back when our dollar was
sliding about as bad as it is today. Flats of Top Gun & Gun Club were $ 75 locally not more than 10 years ago, then went down to +/- $ 52 when the dollar was at
par or above with the USD. But even then, a bag of shot was $ 22.00 not what it is today.

The prices should come down but the price of shotgun ammo is also dependent on the price of lead. If it is high then ammo is too.

Lead is close to a five year low. The dollar is hurting us severely at the moment.

True. But even if the dollar goes up it is possible shell prices will stay high if the price of lead does the same.

I recall in the late 80's when $105 was a good price on a case of 500 ( $52.50 / flat )

More than 25 years later, the current pricing isn't all that bad, given the rise in wages, inflation,
price of vehicles, food, commodities, guns etc., and how our dollar fluctuates with the US$.

I just grin & bear it. What did your new SUV and a liter of gas cost back then ?

The US dollar seems to have the largest effect on pricing. I haven't been shooting all that long compared to many, but I have seen prices change significantly in both directions. I recall Challengers coming out at around $49 per flat and then Winchester and Federal brought out the Super Targets and the Top Guns at $35 per flat. Challenger stopped production on the target loads at those prices. Challenger is making shells again, so .... the cycle continues.
