I've been told that the Remington 870 is a very reliable shotgun for hunting geese.What barrel lenght should i be looking for if I decide to buy? Should I get a 28" barrel?
 
Which ever feels better to you. Some guys prefer longer barrels, other shorter. To me, I don't care between a 26" or 28" barrel, but the longer the barrel, the further the boom is from your head and your ears will thank you for that. By the way, welcome to the forum but you posted this in the rifle section, shotguns is one spot down. :)
 
If using heavy goose loads, some may find recoil a bother with the pumpgun, and a gas operated semi is preferable, like the Beretta. It's more money but some folks are affected so much by this recoil that they become afraid to shoot!!!
