Hi all I am pondering shotshell reloading, I want to load for 12g mainly but with the option of loading 20g later and want to load waterfowl loads and skeet/trap loads.
What press will acomplish this and not make the bank manager mad?
Thanks

reloading is almost not worth the effort any more. Trap shells especially are so cheap to buy that reloading cost you money . I have two Pacific 366 loaders in my gun room that don't even get used any more. I love loading shells but I like saving money more.

And what about loading for steel?
I got owned at the hardware store in the town my pa lives in paid 24$ for a box of Winchester 3"BB. That kind pissed me off so thought I'd start loading, for steel at least

Even reloading steel is of doubtful savings...the steel shot is expensive.....The special wads are expensive.....I've seen 3" steel BBs sell for $9 a box at CO-OP here in Sask...... you can't reload them for that. It may come full circle again and in the future it my pay to reload but now it just doesn't pay. Lead shot is up to $30 or more per bag plus tax, showing again it won't pay.....we are starting to make lead shot and hope to come in under that figure....but the savings still are small.

all you have to do for steel is make sure that your barrel will take the stuff, and the manuacturer will tell you that- with me, it was a remington 1100 and don't go bigger than no 2 steel with a full choke- if you watch the sales at wally/tire /etc, you can't reload for as cheap as they sell- if you want to get fancy and go tungsten or bismuth , that's about the only time it would pay off

I've never loaded steel because I don't shoot enough of it to justify buying the powder and components.

I continue to load 12 gauge target loads. While there is a lot of discount 12 gauge it isn't that good. For the same price as the Federal Top Gun or the Winchester Super Target I can load more consistent and better ammo.

What I can also do is tailor a specific load that I can't buy. I like shooting 1 ounce at 1150fps or 7/8s at 1250 loads with premium shot loads that I can't often acquire over the counter.

So if a guy was to load steel would you pay the same per shell or more.
What equipment do I need and what would you guys suggest?
