hi their
ive been thinking of getting into rifle reloading , but i live in a shotgun only area and 80 percent of my hunting will be with a shotgun plus skeet shooting. would it be a good idea to get into shot shell reloading first? is it easier? what will i need? will it make slugs alot more accurate?? thanx

I would load skeet loads, but for slugs, I would spend the $$ and get factory stuff. It isn't worth the energy to reload that stuff. As for a loader, the MEC 650 is a great beginner shotshell loader.

Steve, I disagree about slugs. I load my own (Lyman Sabot Slug) and while they may not be as cheap, they are as accurate or more accurate than factory PLUS I have the added bonus of knowing that I made them. I think that it's all part of the process.

RePete.

I have the same Lee Load All that I started with(1989),It may be cheaper and maybe a little slower than the more expensive ones(I would'nt know),but it does the job with excellent results.

With the price of target loads just over $4/box, there's not much savings to be had. You'd have to load a LOT of shells to make it worthwhile. You really saved loading your duck/goose loads when we could do lead, and I haven't picked up for steel yet.
