Hey guys
I have been offered a Sig MCX for $1700. It is unfired from what I have been told. What do you think should I get it or pass?

I have one. Paid more than 1700 for mine, and a lot more rounds down the pipe too. I love mine. It's a solid AR platform. Mine has the skeletonized stock (which I love).

If you have the cash, the Virtus is a better version, as it is built to higher specs. But, lets be honest....its a sig, so it isn't going to fail easily.

Can't go wrong with it...unless our effeminate buffoon of a PM gets a second term. Then all of us will have expensive paperweights.

The SIG MCX Virtus is the top of the MCX line with numerous SOCOM-suggested upgrades over the Gen 2 MCX. The Virtus has a heavier/stiffer & more accurate barrel, a stiffer Handguard, a better trigger and the Folding/Retractable Buttstock. It is also certified to go 20,000 rounds without need to change so much as a spring. That said even a Gen 2 MCX is the top of the AR food-chain and can be considered the next evolution of the Stoner design with its combination of piston operation, nested operating springs/lack of a Buffer Tube, Folding Buttstock, and replaceable steel inserts in high-wear areas. They are terrific rifles. For $1700 buy it immediately. If it is a Gen 1, get MD Charlton to perform the Gen 2 Bolt Carrier Group upgrade for free. My Gen 1/2 MCX was excellent and my Virtus in .300 Blk has been flawless with zero stoppages.

This may sound stupid but how can you tell if its a gen 2? I have yet to see the rifle, I am going to see it on next Thursday.
