Hi,
I just installed a Tactical Solution aluminium fluted barrel on a Yukon stock and the barrel touch the stock at some places. I did not shoot her yet, but I'm wondering if I should freefloat the barrel before or leave it as is??

Try shooting it first. At least then you will have something to compare it to after bedding. The Tac Sol barrels should be light enough to truely free float them.

Generally on the bigger 10/22 barrels it is not good to free float them as it is too much weight for the recieve/v-block to hold up. For your Tactical soultions barrel thought it should be fine. It would be even better to glass bed it though (2 inches or so forward of the recoil lug) and that will give it even more support. Try shooting it first though and if it shoots good, leave it :)

Yes the barrel is really lightweight. I like the idea of bedding the first inch for more stability. I was asking the question because since it is a laminated stock, it is not supposed to warp with temperature.
