Hi everyone,

As I'll eventually be a happy owner of a SKS, I have a question. I put up for grabs a scope in the EE section, but now I wonder if there's a way to see if I should keep it for my SKS.

I thought about selling the scope since its length and its eye relief didn't match any of my current applications - but the SKS is coming - is there a way for me to figure out if that scope could work on the sks (without having a SKS yet to try it on)? What kind of numbers, measurements can I play with to figure that out? The scope is rather long, with a short eye relief (about 1.5 to 2.5 inches I think).

Thanks for your help :)

i think its best not to put a scope on a russian SKS45 cos the only mount i like are the type thats screws to the side of the receiver , eg: choate mount or the russian type but i hate the thought of drilling holes and cutting the stock . i would do that to a norinco .

anyways short relief is better but if the scope is too long then you need a case deflector .

Thanks guys, exactly the info this SKS eventual newbie needed. The scope would be too long, will find a shorty when the time comes!

If you do scope it, find a mount that attaches to the frame. The ones you see that mount to the spring cover are junk IMO.
