Should I remove the picatanny rail from my Savage FCP-K for the scope?

Hey all,

Got this Savage FCP-K that comes with a factory picatanny rail on it. Wondering if I should remove the rail and bolt the scope rings right into the action itself, using the holes from the rail? Or should I just use the rail? Don't know if it is worthwhile doing this for keeping the scope low to the action.
