I am just trying to get into shooting 'precision' i have mainly been into pistol shooting, so i figure i am going to start at 100 meters, I am not going to try any real long distance shooting or make the appropriate investment untill i am sure that I will enjoy it and have worked on the fundamentals a bit. What would be the major pitfall of that scope, on high magnification the target becomes blurry? Would you have any suggestions on what kind of equipment i should be looking at, ideally id like to keep it under 1500 but i guess I could save a bit more/ sell a gun or two if it is necessary.
The rifle is a factory sporting rifle, it is not - strictly speaking - a "precision rifle" but that term is really realtive.
The achievement of accuracy and precision requires an accurate shooter, accurate ammunition and an accurate rifle. This rifle and scope are absolutely fine for getting started, and you will likely put smiles on your face along the way, but black gun+bipod+scope does not make it accurate.
It will not be your last gun - I guaratee that. Jump in, have fun and never mind what others have to say. If you like it, get it.

When you start sinking copious amounts of money into a rifle, you'll be hard pressed to purchase a scope for more.

You've been warned! I know what you are saying, but there are scopes and 'scopes'.
Where I am from, scopes should cost at least as much as the gun or more,
that is how my father explain it to me.
For target shooting up to couple hundred meters no really matters but for longer, probably does. As for hunting, I can not see myself hunting with 150-300 bucks scope.
This year I have decided to get into long-er range shooting, at first learn fundamentals of the long range so I can either start shooting some matches or apply learn techniques for long range hunting. I have a rifle which will push the bullet 1000m, but I didn't have a scope. After reading, asking, researching I found that NF will do it. I can't afford S&B now, but after getting rid of few rifles, scope, and other toys I got funds to buy it what will work for me.
I will go with 5.5-22x56 MLR.
I think all boils down how serious we want to be and if we can afford to go cheap route and pay more in the future.

A rail can be as little as $25
The bipod is likely a cheap one, maybe $50
The case is not going to be a Pelican, so likely only $30 max
The scope is $400 ish.
So, basically, you are at best, paying full retail for everthing.
If you don't mind waiting, you could likely piece this together from new and uses EE stuff (all in excellent plus condition) for less....and have the fun of "building" it yourself!
But, if you want a one stop shop, the deal isn't too far off. See if he'll drop to 1200 even

Frontiers prices are always at the top end of the scale!!!!!!!!
In that price range my vote goes to the Savage 10 precision carbine, and spend a little more on a scope!
If you can spend a little more the Remington 700 5R is a huge upgrade!
