I recently bought this shoulder stock from a fellow nutter. BTW he was very up front in saying he wasn't sure what it was or what gun it was for. The price was right so I decided to take a chance on it being one of the Chinese knock offs made a few years ago for the Inglis Hi powers.

It came today and unfortunately it does not appear to be intended for the BHP. The attachment part on the stock that is intended to slide into the female slot in the pistil's grip is too narrow (or the pistols slot is too wide) and the two won't stay together. Also a BHP won't even come close to fitting into the holster cut out. The holster slot is wide enough but way too shallow. The Inglis won't go down in much past the trigger guard. I do see a round cut out about a inch in diameter extending down from the bottom of the holster cut out. It looks like it would be big enough around to fit a barrel and foresite.

Given the above I wonder if this might have been intended for a Broomhandle Mauser? I also thought about an Artillery Luger but I tried my P-08 in the holster part and the frame by the toggle and safety was too wide to fit down in. Also, is the attachment point from a stock on a Luger's grip female or male? This stock would require a slot cut into the pistols grip.

I'm 99.99% sure this is a Chinese repro of some type..... Anyone know if they were made for C96 Mausers as well as BHP's?

The problem with the old International repros and later stocks were that the mount on the stock needs to be fitted to the particular pistol it will be mounted on. Usually they are made slightly oversize.

They also seem to shrink a bit over time. I have found a few that need a bit of careful scraping so that a pistol of the type the stock was designed for would fit easily.

Also Canadian stocks are usually marked with the SAE stamp.

Looks like a repro C96 stock to me.

The Chinese repro C96 stocks I've seen have a locking screw under the slotted bracket. That stock doesn't have one.

The interior cut out is wrong for the C96 as well and the angle of the cheek riser isn't sharp enough.

I do agree that is is a reproduction.

So Artillery Luger maybe? What kind of attachment do they have on the pistol? female or male?

Looks pretty much identical to my repro C96 stock.

And attached to a C96 with an original for comparison.

Thanks to all who offered information and opinions. Given the features/characteristics of the stock I have and the info given here I would say what I ended up with is almost certainly a repro for a C96.
