Woodliegh weldcore 225 gr 338 cal from a bunch of different creatures at 2780 fps muzzle velocity and generally less than 100 yrds.

A 150grn speer hotcore recovered under the skin on the far side of a moose. Coming from my .308 at about 40 yds. Weighed 123 grns. I've recovered another that looked just like this one. I have many other recovered bullets but their stories are not well documented.......

I would not even try to make a rendition of the history of these recovered bullets.
Suffice to say, one batch is common cup/core bullets, the other is premiums, mostly Partitions, of which I have recovered 20% of those shot into game.
Some of the cup/core bullets look pretty good, others have only a bit of jacket recovered.
On the bottom row of the premiums, there are 3 bullets. The left one is a Blue point bonded - 190 grain, moose at 200 meters, 308 Norma Mag
Next is a 180 Scirocco I, moose, at 125 yards, 30-06.

Yearling mule deer doe. The "lump" on the right shoulder is the bullet lodged under the skin.

25 WSSM 100 grain Swift Scirocco launched at 3300 fps, range ~80 yards. Hard quartering away, bullet entered on last 2 ribs and was lodged under the skin on the opposite shoulder. Recovered weight 79 1/2 grains - very close to 80%. Great performance considering impact velocity was ~3150 fps. The more I see how the Scirocco performs the more I like it! :D

More pictures. I skinned the doe on Saturday and was quite pleased with the minimal blood-shot considering the impact velocity.

Entry
2011_gillian_doe-entry.JPG

Entry inside rib cage.A golf-ball sized area of destruction as the bullet passed through the tips of the last 2 ribs.

Exit was about the size of a quarter.
2011_gillian_doe-exit_inner.JPG

Exit was through the ribs and into the upper part of the front leg. Velocity had bled right off and I was able to bone out the entire shoulder for a rolled roast with less than an ounce of wasted meat.
