I've been poking around trying to find a side-by-side 20 gauge for grouse hunting. It doesn't seem like a lot of manufactures make these things anymore.

My requirements:
-Double triggers
-Extractors
-Chokes around LM/M or removable.

I know of the CZ Bobwhite but this gun is going to be in the bush quite a bit. Is / was there a common used gun I should be asking for on the EE? Not looking to spend a fortune but it doesn't have to be dirt cheap.

If you are buying new there are a number of guns available. CZ, Yildiz, Hatsan, to name a few off the top of my head. If you are looking for used then the field gets a bit narrower and you never know what will pop up for sale. I have bought a few 20 gauge doubles off the EE in the past 3 years. There was and maybe still is a 20 gauge BSS listed on the EE.

Personally speaking from experience , I would and have taken a Bobwhite everywhere from the upland fileds to the duck blind and a canoe, love that gun!

My buddy hunted hard with a Stoeger sxs 20 ga. with 26" barrels. I know that Stoeger has a bad rap and is definitely a low-end firearm, but the partridge were on the table and he loved that gun! It came with the removable chokes and the wrench and personally I never saw or felt any advantage would have been gained with a shotgun costing 2-4 times the price. It wasn't unattractive to look at either. Look at the LeBaron's online catalogue. You can order online though I've heard they really aren't too good to deal with via the net.

As far as I am aware Yildiz doesn't make a 20GA with double triggers and Hatsan doesn't make side-by-side shotguns. I will keep my eye on the EE, just not sure what to look for really.

Great gun for sure, I was just looking for something I wouldn't feel bad about beating up a bit.

Great, I'll read some reviews and see what I can find.

I wouldn't worry about it at ll, a little bit of care goes a long way!:>)
I hunt with some guns worth $5,000 and some worth $500, I treat them all the same and enjoy them all!

In keeping with the comments by cat......
I too have some of everything... 5000--- to 500 in $ value.
Whatever you like is right.
My current favorite is the cz ringneck.
Shoots like crazy for me, and did not kill my budget.
Well put up, at a great price

I just checked their website and they actually do make a double trigger gun!

Yes the A3, double triggers 12GA. However, the 20GA equivalent, A5, has a single trigger. Very strange.

Alright, I'll take your guy's advice and just grab a CZ Bobwhite in 20GA and call it a day unless something pops up on the EE at a good price.

While I am waiting for a couple of feelers for my 1100 20 gauge , you might be interested in a SXS at Reliable.
It is a Laurona box lock in 20 g.
Does not have choke tubes, but would make a great grouse gun....now if I can only find a buyer for my 1100.

The Stevens 311 is a good value if you can find one in respectable kon-ditshun.
There was a Stevens 510 not tew long ago in the EE for a reezonable chump $$.
Not shure how it compares to the treelevvun, comments?

Look for a Bobwhite or just buy new from Prophet River or other dealer that will give you good service. You may be able to find a Sauer 20g in your budget as well.

The uplander from stoeger is a decent gun for the money. Not pretty but should go bang when asked to.
Baikal makes a solid sxs as well

The Bob white is a nice gun. The fake case colors kinda suck

I looked around for a used gun with similar traits and ended up buying a brand new CZ Bobwhite with 28" barrels, I absolutely love this gun fits me great and I shoot it well. I bought this firearm to use it and not be scared, not trying to beat it up either though, but a gun is a gun made to be used.
