I got it in my head that I need a 12gauge SS but to justify the purchase I want it to be my turkey gun hence the need for 3" chambers. It seems all the SS 12gauge are 2 3/4 is there a mechanical reason for this or any reason at all?

Thanks Grant

I don't know what brand you wanted, but most everyone makes them in 3". From Norinco to Beretta, Baikal to Stoeger, 3" is widely available.

You did mean new, didn't you?

SS 3"Chamber

Sorry I should have said used. I figure for a gun that only get one shot a year I don't need to go new and fancy. Also I would only be shooting lead.

A shotgun even with a 2 3/4in chamber with the appropriate choke/load with verified pattern will perform equally well. Turkeys maybe a little hard to bag but they don't wear armour plates :)

I would go for the Baikal IZH43 or Remington SPR210 or 220 (SPR is the same Baikal product that Remington had been marketing till last year)..... if budget is the main dominant factor. The sxs models mentioned come with screw-in chokes and 3in chambers.

Don't forget the stoeger SXS for about $450 with screw in chokes and 3" chambers. It just screams "Get off ma laaaaand!"
