what do you have and use for hunting? whats good about it and what would you change? looking at getting one for hunting game in the pacific NW. I don't have a truck and don't really want to buy one so figured a Side by side is something I can tow behind the car. recommendations?
 
Well, if you want to go lightening quick, buy something else..but I have a Kioti diesel, and seldom find the place to “pin it”. Buy coloured diesel, not plated as Farm vehicle. Even my buddies think it awesome.

Have a Rhino I could be talked into selling.
Bought it to replace the Zewk.
Moved upp'ear and the cold element is worser than I thought.
Gonna yewse the Zewk instead.

There are faster units out there, but heck, the African Kritter duzz
as it's suppose to.

Depends on your needs. Side by sides and large quads are heavy and can be a PITA in the tight stuff. Smaller 400/500 cc quad will get you around quite nicely. Not that I have one. I ride an Arctic Cat 700 diesel. Heavy!!!
 
Stay away from the Wildcat 700's. Any of them. Any years. Plagued with recalls. The most recent is a complete recall for melting firewalls due to faulty heat shielding. Mines been in the shop for three weeks and it's still not repaired.

Holy smokes! I was looking at that one before buying the diesel. Hope they get it figured out for you.
 
And Arctic Cat kept silent for a month when the stop-sale order was issued. No one would return phone calls or emails. Huge mistake,and once it's fixed, I'm stuck with it because no one in their right mind will buy one now.
 
I have a 50" rzr with windshield, doors, roof and heat. Great hunting machine. 50" is a great width. I also have a quad but prefer the rzr when cold and wet

yeah windshield/wiper and heated cab are gonna be a must, will easily do 100 kms some days up the squamish valley, big puddles and road bars and non stop rain, I couldn't see doing it on quad would be miserable. I would think you could carry a deer no problem but probably not an elk unless quartered?
 
Cab would be nice and if your trails have the room, go for it. Price is an issue for some folks too.
I like the diesel as it burns 6.different fuels, built as a two up and has a winch as standard. They don't make them anymore and I bought mine when they were clearing them out . Great deal��
 
Get yourself a Suzuki Carry or the like. It's a small Japanese truck with right hand drive. Look for the models with 4WD and a locking differential. Heated cab, drop down box on the back. You put on a lift kit and bigger rims and tires. Totally perfect hunting vehicle and road legal (for sure in Alberta and Ontario anyways).

I dunno. I'm 6'2", 240, and I'm ok to spend 5 or 6 hours a day in mine. Now, my friends say I look like Donkey Kong in Super Mario Kart, but what do they know.

My neighbor has an Arctic Cat with the cab and heat. That is why he wanted it. Two major problems I have with it: 1 it is terribly noisy inside. Not bad outside but riding in it you need earplugs. 2 the windows are polycarbonate and are easily scratched. It is very hard to see out the side windows with the sun out, and they don't open. The previous owner said he took the doors off one summer but it was a horrible job to put them back on and line them up.
