Side Focus

Looking for a good quality 40mm objective scope for a rimfire with side parallax adjustment...capable of focus down to 25M. Suggestions?

Most side focus scopes are 30 mm main tube , might be a bit bulky for a rimfire , clone leupold maybe ? not sure on that, Super Sniper if you can find one is excellent glass

You might be interested in the new 4200, either 6 or 8 - 24x 40, comes with a side focus

You do know that the side-focus mech has some drawbacks, right, and to always start at ∞ and come back to the correct focus to eliminate the backlash.

That being said, what about a 3x-12x-44 for 90 bux?

Was not aware they had problems. Not sure what is meant by "backlash"??? Does this mean they should be reset to the lowest setting and then up to the range you want to set for parallax...each time??

"each time"? If you mean after every shot, then no. If you mean each time you change the range, then yes. And this is true for genuine Leopolds and the cheap knock-offs.
And it's not a "problem" exactly, just a drawback to the design.

That's mighty unusual! Does the instruction manual say to do the reset for each new range setting, or is that your experience?
