i loaded up some 22-250 shells using 34.5gr of varget with a 55 gr sierra blitz kings. for some reason they kept shooting high and to the left. but when i was using my 34.5gr. of varget with a 55gr hornady spire point bullet it would hit bang on.

does anyone use blitz king bullets in their 22-250 and if so how do they shoot?

should a guy try and increase the powder to like 35 gr's?

i'm pretty new to reloading and this is the first time i have had a load do this lol. kinda lost on what to do with these bullets beside setting them aside and not using them

any suggestions

thanks

i wouldnt care where they hit, as long as they shot a nice group. you know those twisty turny things on the sides of your scope? they work!

As above, different loads will hit in different places. I lucked out with my load, they hit in the same place as the cheap 45grs from wally world. I have had others that hit high and to the right but the group sucked so I stuck with what I had.

I will be trying a new load in the near future, looking for something a little easier on the fur.

Sure there blitzkings and not the blitz varminters. The reason i ask is i ordered some blitzkings from good old wholesale sports and they sent me the blitz varminter instead. When i shot them out of my swift they where all over the place and are not good at handling the speed from the swift and 22-250.I'am sure this isn't your case but just thought i'd ask.On the end of the blitz varminter box it said (med.vel.) which i thought might mean medium velocity ???

"...for some reason..." Changing the ammo means you have to sight in again. Change any one component and you have to work up the load again.
Beginning with the starting load, load 5 rounds only. Go up by half a grain of powder, loading 5 of each, keeping them separate, until you get to the max load in your manual.
Then go shooting. Shoot at 100 yards, for group only, slowly and deliberately off a bench. Change targets between strings of 5 and allow time for the barrel to cool.
When you find the best group, sight in.

thanks for the advice!! i i should have said in my post that they were hitting high and to the left with very poor groups like 5" groups lol with some flyers, i will keep working the load up bit by bit and try them with some 4064.

once again thanks for the suggestions.

your bullets are landing within 5 inches of each other?.... something is wrong.
the point of impact can be high, low, right or left.. that will always change. But, they should be landing within an inch of one another.
My experience with Sierra bullets is in .243, and WSM calibers... but these have all been at worst within an inch of each other and at best 3 shots in 2 holes.

your COL is correct?

22-250 Remington

Blitz's shot well for me in my triple deuce, but the thin jackets might not be holding up to the 3500 fps velocity you get from your .22-250 load. I had 50 gr Hornady SX's that never made it to the target because they wouldn't handle the 1:7 twist barrel. This is the problem Swifty alludes to.

Try some 55 gr Sierras other than the Blitz with the same load. If they shoot, then I would say that's your problem. If a 55 gr bullet with a tougher jacket doesn't shoot, you will have to consider that there might be a problem with your scope or rifle.
