I loaded some up in 6mm (100 gr Soft Point Flat Back) in a 1/9.25 twist and they're super accurate out to 300 yds. Two questions for you guys that have experience with them:

1. Do they retain accuracy beyond 300 yds (say out to 600 yds?)
2. How do they perform in terms of terminal performance on anything from varmints up to deer sized game?

I ended up loading these as the boat-tail version was out of stock. There is next to no user information on them on here or the www...

I used them in 140 gr in a 7 mag I used to have. Even though I loaded them mild for punching paper I did shoot 1 deer with them, the impact velocity was about 2800 and there was complete jacket separation, jacket was right under the hide at the entrance hole. I can't offer any info on long range accuracy but they produced the smallest groups of just about any bullet I've used so far, I've read quite a few threads now about how accurate those plain jain sierra flat based bullets are.

Pro-Hunter 180 (flatbase) is my standard bullet for testing and targets with the .303. I run them about 2250 (same charge gets 2350 in the Rosses) for the Lees, seat to the OAL of a Ball round (3.05"). This gets the ogive just a tad closer to the start of rifling. Results are okay: bullets touching from the iron-sight Ross, half-inch from the Aussie LE, one-ragged-hole from the Winchester P-'14, but it's scoped.

Same slug works very, very well in the Moisin-Nagant rifle as well.

I have some in .308 for my 30-30, flat base. Furthest I've tried them was just under 400 yards, and that was with irons and I wasn't measuring groups. But, I hit the plate with consistency, and it's smaller than a deer, so I was satisfied. They didn't kill the plate though.

I've used Sierras from .22 to .338. They tend be on the soft side of the range, which is not all bad. Crowd toward the heavier side of the bullet weight range for larger animals and resist any urge to stick one in an STW and you'll do OK.

One thing I've noticed over the years is that if a rifle won't shoot a Sierra flat base you can pretty much assume that it won't shoot anything. They are very easy to get along with that way.

I've been using Sierras forever, in most calibers from .277 to .375, and more recently in .257, and generally like them very much.

The pro-hunter specifically, 180 grain variety, is my go-to bullet in 303 British.

I load them to around 2400 fps and they perform very well. I have full confidence in them on any game that the 303 would be suitable to hunt.

Thanks fellas. It was the only bullet I tried for a new rifle and both powders worked well with this bullet (H4350, H4831). Despite the rage with fancy bullets, I'm happy with this plain Jane. Gamekings and Blitzkings are my .243 and 22-250 selections - did some research before developing loads on those, and they didn't disappoint. There's not too many reviews on the ProHunters, glad to get some feedback.

Up one more time for last round! I will try them longer range in spring and see how they do.

Unless you have a new, high quality barrel, a flat base bullet is a better bet for accuracy.

For hunting, go with the heavier bullets to avoid blow ups. If you need a lighter bullet, I prefer the flat base Hornady.

the pro hunter and the game king are the exact same construction according the sierra manual.. The only difference is the game king is Boattail. I shoot game kings in a savage model 11 TH in 308.. 165gr and its my go to load for moose and deer.. i got them loaded at somewhere between 2700 and 2800fps.(no crony). at approx 200yrds the bullet entered the front bisket of a doe and came out just in front of the lear leg bringing most of it insides with it.. i have no thought on how accurate or tough these bullets are. they give me 3/4 inch groups at 200yrds off a sandbag on the hood of the truck lol.. i also use the sierra in my 22-250.. if u cannot get a sierra to shoot there is something wrong

I shoot the 120's out of my 260 ai at 3100 fps. I have never recovered a bullet as everything went through deer. They don't use up much case capacity compared to other longer bullets and are very accurate.

I've used them in my 2506. Accurate but any impact over 2900 fps shredded the bullet. Shot a coyote at just shy of 200 yards. Looked like it swallowed a grenade. Shooting into water jugs I've never seen one hold together. For thin skinned light big game they will work. I prefer interlocks for a cheaper projectile
