Sig 1911 optic cut

Hello fellows,

I have an sig 1911 scorpion and I wanted to get an optic cut for it.

I was thinking the Holosun EPS carry which uses the holosun 507k foot print.

I reached out to black box and they responded right away.

The issue here is that with the R&D cost to develop the process for Sig 1911 optic cut, it will cost me between 720 - 960 for the optic cut milling.

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have an sig 1911 that they would like to have it optic cut? I would be down to share the R&D cost and I am open to maybe a different foot print if you don’t like holosun foot print ?

Black box custom also offers a Agency Arms foot print which has different optic plate options, I would be down for this as well ( more expensive )

Any other suggestions are welcome as well.

Was the issue with the optic or the 1911?

I had the same issue wanting to add a compact optic to a Stryk B. They could do it off-the-shelf with an RMR, but would need to do all the programming for a Shield or Holosun, which added an additional 500 or so. Too bad they can't just buy the 'programs' from a place in the US. Maybe it would require identical equipment or is a risk issue, but so many places down in the US offering multiple options.

The Sig 1911 has a very unique slide profile when it comes to 1911s, so black box needs to do measurement and development of the milling process etc. like you mentioned there are a few places in the US offering milling for the sig but unfortunately we live in Canada.

The 507k pattern is pretty common so that’s not an issue.
