Looking at both of these pistols ,which one would you buy for paper punching? From what I see on the sig site either one would do the job. Just curious as to what the experts here have to say. Thanks Mike
The trigger on the 1911 is, IMHO, better suited to 'bullseye' type of shooting.
I own both platforms, and I, consistently, shoot the 1911 more accurately.
In an IPSC or IDPA setting, where the idea is get the shots within a zone and group size isn't so vital, I don't find one preferable to the other.
The obvious answer, as always, is to have a chance to handle, and hopefully shoot, both types before you buy...
My approach would be to buy both!
Have to admit I do like my 1911's....just seem to fit my mitt. Having said that I have had the chance to try out an all stainless P220 and was extremely impressed .
I just recently purchased a SAO 220 Match and i am favorably impressed by it. I like my Kimber 1911 as well It really comes down to what feels good in your hand and what you personally shoot the best . Have you priced both your options out?
The Sig 1911s are costing quite a pretty penny....there are a lot of good 1911s out there. I wouldn't be limited to the Sigs...especially since they aren't actually Sig Sauer.
Not a whole lot of difference between the two pistols as far as price is concerned and I've owned /shot a fairly wide selection of 1911's over the years. I have only shot one sig P220 that belongs to a friend of mine and as previously mentioned was/am very impressed with the accuracy that this platform delivered. Having said that I must also admitt that I have not had the chance to shoot a sig 1911 so I'm really curious as to which one is the more accurate of the two?
