Sig 1911?

Love my Stainless Target. Great fit/finish and damn accurate. Ran 500 factory hardball through it first, now working on reloads. 200gn SWC/TC swaged, and is feeding them fine, now I've got the load right.

Get one - you'll love it!

I know guys who have owned 'them' all, and the sig is among the favorites, by a wide margin. If a blind man were handling them he would likely pick the sig before many much more expensive models. They really do feel good in the hand.

On the flip side It's the one 1911 I have seen fail the most also. Out of the 200 or so I have personally seen in action 3 have fired out of battery. That is 1.5% catastrophic failure rate. For me it's too high and I will personally never pull the trigger on one again. That's just me though.

Can anyone comment on how the scorpions cerakote finish holds up after extended use/ holster use?? Love the look of the pistol but dont know how scratch prone the finish is or isnt!

Mine hasn't been holstered but it has been shot a bit. Finish is like the day I got it.

The Sig 1911 TAG OPS with rail and the full stainless SIG 1911 are superior quality for a good price. I own both and would highly recommend. A must for any 1911 enthusiast. They shoot really accurate. They are really well put together. A wonderful side arm and feels great in the hand.

Mine came with four magazines, everyone of them the base plate failed. Sig told me, no problem they'd warranty it, but because I was letting my local retail outlet handle the warranty I only ever got two magazines back and got screwed out of the other two. The store didn't even offer to replace the other two they didn't get back. I'm still pretty choked about it and it's a big reason why I stay out of that store.

My Sig 1911, I love! It's a tac driver, so far in my limited experience it is the most accurate handgun I've fired. I did have two issues with it, the magazines as mentioned above, and the plunger spring for the safety detent was bent and installed that way. I would have had to send the gun away for warranty and I didn't want my baby to leave, so I replaced the spring myself.

Stupid question, but do the SIG 1911 use standard 1911 magazines or a sig specific one?

Standard 1911 magazines.

Edit: I should add, that the sig 1911 is a true 1911, the only difference being the unique slide and frame profiling. All parts are interchangeable. I've had my sig slide on a Norc 1911 and a Norc slide on my frame.
Edit2: I forgot the external extractor is also different.

Scorpion is only gun that always goes to the range. Accurate and is always the attention getter, the one folks always point to. SIG mags are iffy, slide doesn't always lock open. Waiting for my WC ETM from Brownell, hope that fixes the prob.

My tacops loves the "Dlask" ACT-Mags.

I'm planning on getting the TacPac soon as I get the necessary cash, for those that have the Pac, was it worth the purchase and how much did it cost? P&D has it for $1099 and I am wondering if that's pretty inexpensive. I don't really like to order online for firearms.
