SIG 220/226 Question

Ok...I no that I can take the top ends (slide/barrel ect.) of my 9mm 226 and put it on the frame of my .40 226 and it fits and works just fine ( also works 40 to 9mm frame)...I have actually done this ( mags are also needed of course)
So what Im wondering is, does the same work on the 220s... 9mm>.45 and vise versa?

Or maybe this is GOOD EXCUSE to buy a couple 220s so I can figure it out

As far as I know, the 9mm P220 is a .45 converted to 9mm and the mags use a shim in the back to fit the 9mm rounds. So you should be able to just swap the barrel with a .45 barrel and get some .45 mags and be off to the races.

Yes it works, but you need to replace the locking insert with an appropriate one.
