Gents,

I have a sig 220 in 9mm. heel mag. G 158###

any help where n when it was made?

I tried google and got close. CGN search wasnt helpful so dont kill me too hard on this.

There is a massive data dump of sig serial numbers on a different forum. I'm surprised google didn't get you there.

I was able to get mine to a couple months based on others entries. You can apparently call sig And they will tell you for a fee.
 
Look under the dust cover, there should be two letters like KF...if you can give me those I can get you the year.

i found G157### and G159###, not G 158###

yeah, the G157 dates are around 1988, and I thought by then they had replaced the heel mag with an american mag realease.

N mines a heel mag G 158, hence the confusion
 
I tried looking up more in my 226, it doesn't have any markings outside the serial number. None of the typical stamps.

Apparently the US assembled ones weren't marked, but it has a German serial #. Pretty sure the prior owners didn't switch out parts but I guess no one would ever know.
