I enjoyed my Sig 220 in 45 acp so much I picked up a used 9mm.
The slide had some serious holster wear on it ( rest of the gun is in great shape)so I sandblasted it.
I can`t decide if I want to gunkote it or leave it in the raw.
The slide is stainless so I don`t need to worry about rust.
What do you think?
I also lightly blasted the shiny, slippery factory grips and now they are much better.

The only thing I find with a sandblasted surface is that it shows dirt like crazy. Anything that rubs against it the surface pics up, kinda acts like sandpaper go figure. If you like the colour that way get a hold of Murdoc and get some ArmaCoat clear for it and then no worries.

I did the same to my 226 in 9.
But, then I made it two-tone!
I surface ground, then polished the raised sides of the
slide and left the recessed sections blast
finish. Just like the Equinox except
a matt grey instead of black.
It turned out great, I get alot of comments
on it, and have done a few others for
those who want it.
The shiny sections add to the 'bling' factor!
Rust has never been a prob either.
If you're interested, PM me.
