No the Sig 22 conversion will not work on the Norinco copies. I ended up purchasing the Sig 226 22 classic from SFRC and then from Questar a 40 S&W X-Change kit and it worked out to around the same or a bit cheaper than purchasing a Sig 40 S&W 226, I don't know why but I didn't mind that I got both for the same price as the center fire version. At some point I will get the 9mm X-Change kit, maybe SFRC will be getting some in soon.
When I got the 22 classic I had a Norinco 226 clone in 40 S&W and the 22 upper would not fit the Norinco due to the different locking inserts on the two firearms, I think the Norinco 40 S&W upper with a bit of playing around would have worked on the Sig but I ended up selling it and got the exchange kit. The Norinco was okay but the Sig has a better fit and finish and it is a Sig, on accuracy they both were close with the Sig being just a bit better.
If you do get the 22 version the slide does not lock open after the last shot is fired but if you go to sigpower. com they have an upgrade kit that will keep the slide open after the last shot, you just have to lock the slide back fully to get the magazine out easier.
Good luck on which ever way you choose to go.
