Thinking about getting a 226 9mm. How do they like reloaded ammo? I have heard stories about some types of guns not liking relaods. Quote from the Lee reloading manual, in regards to the .40sw: "Do not use reloads in Glock or similar guns with chambers that do not fully support the cartridge due to the infrusion of the feed ramp" Now I know this is for a .40 but the question still stands... do I have to worry about a Sig 9mm and reloaded ammo?

thanx

Difficult to generalise, depends how good your handloads are. P226s don't have particularly tight tolerances so they will shoot any reliable 9mm ammunition usually (except Geco JSP, but that's an obscure load).

A guy I know told me he had come up with a way of "accurising" his P226 by shooting .357" bullets through it instead of .355". But it caused a pressure build-up and blew the magazine out of the mag well and the right grip off, so I don't recommend that...

I have to say most guns would have been wrecked after that but he was able to get it running again with minor repairs. However after that he decided that SIG-Sauers were rubbish.

But anyway, P226s work with handloads... unless you're an idiot.

My very own Sig 226 loves reloads (montana gold 115 gr fmj at 1150fps). 5 shot groups of just over 2" at 25m are common place as long as I do my part.

Sig 226s are superbly accurate. Feed it with carefully assembled handloads and you should have no problem.
