Good morning,

I have a Sig P226 with the DAK trigger in .40. I want to change the barrel out to 9mm with a factory barrel. Can this be done without any modifications? Anybody tried it?

Thanks.

You need the X-Change kit as the barrel diameters are slightly different so you can't use the same slide for both barrels. Also the recoil springs are different weights.

The guy in the video doesn't know how to lock his slide back without using a mag?

You need the kit.

The kit gives you everything plus the slide so it takes seconds to swap. If you just have the barrel and are going to use the 9mm recoil spring, you may have some problems.

You can go the x change kit which is in my opinion the best as the extractor and breech face are right for the caliber. The cheaper way to go is use a conversion barrel. I have a SIG P229 in .40 with s Bar-Sto conversion barrel for 9mm. Haven't shot it in .40 yet. Shoots good in 9mm.
