i recently purchased a sig 226 classic 22 and after my first time at the range would like to fix it so the slide locks open after the last round. i remember seeing a few posts about a guy that makes parts for it but cant find it now.
what part am i looking for and where can i buy it? thanks:)

your looking for "www.sigpower.com"

The followers work great and the guide rod is also a nice touch....works flawlessly in my gun.

P.S. It's the magazine followers that you need to hold the slide open on the last shot.

i really like it. i dont have much experience to base that on though.

it worked reaonably well. it didnt like some of the cartridges I was using so i am still experimenting to see what works. sounds like lots of 22's are picky. seemed to be better towards the end of the day after putting a few hundred rounds through it.

thanks, will check it out.

is there a guy in canada that makes these parts?

I've seen some of the .22LR magazine followers here on the EE Forum sometime a while back. Just cannot remember how and why the followers do the job...

Maybe a SIG Classic .22LR expert can chime in...

I got a .22 classic with the follower and stuff...

First of, the SS guide rod is really nice imo, can't stand the plastic one :)

The follower is the mag part you have to change so the slide locks on the last shot. Note that you won't be able to use the pistol's slide stop to unlock it, the mag follower is doing the job of leaving the slide open. It ain't a "perfect" solution, but it will prevent you hit the breach face with the firing pin.

If you want the parts, just contact jeff from sigpower. He has a 15$ flat rate shipping, but that's the only available solution, and it actually happen to work :)

I still don't understand why didn't Sig got this to work but meh...

Edit: BTW I recommend getting the improved mag spring, it does improve feeding.

$15 is fine. thought it might be more. anybody have issues shipping it across the border?

what about the short mag plug? anybody have that? is there any restriction on how many rounds a pistol rim fire mag can hold? i suppose there is no point to it other than to go through ammo quicker at the range lol

Jeff is a stand up guy, talk to him and he will help you out.

Rumor says Sig does not have the slide locking back because the slide catch can damage the light aluminum slide.
Not sure how true that is but that is the theory I heard. You can always lock the slide back manually without any ill effects, the slide seems strong enough to me.

My memory ain't great, but I'm pretty sure all restricted pistols are supposed to be capped at 10 rounds, so putting those mag plug allowing 15 rounds/mag would be prohib.

From what I remember, there is no mag capacity restriction for 22LR non-restricted firearm.

That is, a mag "designed" for a handgun cannot hold more than 10 rounds (for all centrefires it means pretty much the same thing since a mag designed for a semi rifle can't hold more than 5).
That said, and on your second point, no restrictions on the 22LR. Which means if you own a Ruger Charger (pistol) and happen to have 10/22 high capacity mags, your good to go, as these were not "designed" for the Charger.

I just bought follower and stainless still rode from sigpower.com

$15USD flat rate shipping.. Email him, his site will give messed up S&H.

So what you guys do after slide locks on you, do you just drop the mag or pull slide back a little bit to drop the mag. I noticed I scuffed the follower a bit when just dropping the mag (more like pulling mag out).

I was able to fit 12rds into my mag. Oh oh... I just added a small piece of dowel into the spring. It's back to 10rds now.
