I just picked up a Sig 226R the other day, and of course the first thing i do is take it apart to figure out how it works. field stripping was easy, but i had some difficulties with the detail strip. couldnt find any videos or "how-to's" on the internet for it, so i winged it. got the locking block out with no issues (althoug putting it back in was a #####!) and took out the trigger springs. beyond that im unsure how to proceed, so i stopped there.

does anyone have any online guides or could tell me/show me how to strip everything down on this gun? im not really interested in buyign the armourers dvd or taking the course

any help would be great

I dont no of anything online, although there probly is. But the armourers vidio really is the best bet. There is also lots of good info on sigforum.

I definitely recommend that you get a copy of the Armourers video. The video is released by CWWeapons and the armourer is Chris Orndorff, who is well respected in Sig circles. I took the Armourers Course at the Sig Academy last year but I still throw the DVD in if I get stuck or just to remember the many tips that he gives.
I'm pretty sure that you can order it through Brownells and it is well worth it.

The CWWweapons DVD is a great buy. You can purchase through Brownells or even give Ebay a try. It is well worth the $30. I got mine through Brownells a couple of years back and they were great you could also grab a few extra parts or springs from them too.
