Hello,

Just a quick question - I was installing some nickel parts on my 226 this evening. When I got to the hammer, I noticed it seemed to be missing the 'bar' that sits under the hammer reset spring. Could someone please tell me if I was sold either a damaged or wrong part. Here are a couple pics.....

Thanks

T

Thanks. Are they fixed in some hammers? I tried pressing the part out on two blued hammers I have here and neither seemed to move.

I don't believe that the pin you are talking about is something that the end user is supposed to install. I have a couple of extra hammers and they all have the pin installed. I'm pretty sure that the pin would have been pressed in at the factory or by the supplier.

That's also what I thought. I tried pressing out the part, and it did not move. I didn't try tapping it out because it just seemed like it was fixed and part of the hammer..... can anyone confirm?

I bought my Nickel hammer from Top Gun Supply and it most definetely came with the pin installed. If you look at a hammer you can see that the pin has been "pressed" into it and is not meant to be removed. I suspect that should the pin ever break the solution would be a new hammer and not a replacement pin for the hammer as they are a complete unit.

I am well aware that Top Gun does not ship to Canada; mores the pity, however they are quite happy to ship to my US post office box. I'm sorry your friend did not get a complete hammer however as I stated mine came with the pivot pin installed. As for why Sig sells spare parts, why does any manufacturer sell spare parts for anything they make? Think about it.
