Sig 226 Navy

I don't think that the Navy model was ever a made in Germany model. The only way to get a non-rail 226 anymore is to get a CPO or if you want a new pistol you will have to import it from Germany. All the US 226's have the rail.

From what I read, initially, the P226 Navy had phosphated internal controls and were especially resilient to rust, but later production were just like any other SIG internally, as all later sig are very resistant to rust. The only difference was the small anvil etched on the slide.

As other say, the only way to get a rail-less SIG is to go the EE or CPO way. There is no such thing as a german P226 Navy pistol, this is strictly a US model, along with the 500 other variations with different grips/etch/color/mag number/etc...

For a new one, Wolverine can can import a P226 SL (Black http://www.sigsauer.de/index.php?id=107&lang=en) for you for around $2.1k

I sense confusion and misinformation....

First of all, do you mean the "Navy" P226, sold by SIG to anyone and their dog, with the little anchor engraved on it?

Or do you mean the ACTUAL US Navy-ordered pistols, WITHOUT rails or night sights, a few of which made their way into civilian hands? (Not sure where the slides on these ones were made.)

That's a really old "stock" picture from Sig. They might be able to get a "Navy" for you but it will have the rails. Questar has them listed on their site as a special order item.
Unless you are going to be in a marine enviroment and unable to clean your pistol there is really no advantage to having the phosphated internals on a 226.

Nsw sig navy

Hello John,

There were 2000 Sig 226 Navy with the NSW serial numbers (NSW0001 to NSW2000) and the anchor stamp. A few made it up here and got snapped up by Sig guys.

A small amount of the purchase price went to a fund for families of SF personnel KIA.

Pistols come with certificates of authenticity listing their serial #'s, and two mags in a blue Sig box.

This special series is not the same serial # or series as the 'Navy' models with the anchor (some came with 3 mags) some with EE serial #'s.

Great reliable pistols with phosphated parts; I hear they just keep on ticking like a Timex.

Enjoy, Snowballs:)
