So I was down in Chicago a couple weeks ago, shooting out at a buddy's place. Got to try out a few toys (including an FN Scar, but that's another tale ). Took a Sig 226 with the ergonomic grip for a spin. In 357 Sig, had a rail. I'm thinking I "need" one of these with the short trigger, that combination seems to fit me very well. Anyone had experience with this combo? Cost, availability, etc? It was a great little gun to use, and I understand it is easy to convert calibers on these. Last Sig that I bought new was a Browning BDA, good gun, shouldn't ever have traded it off. Who has these for sale? Thx in advance for your info and opinions. - dan

There are a lot available around; Wolverine, Questar, etc. Questar have a sale on their "Deal" page; it's worth checking out.

If you cannot find a P226 with the E2 grips on it, you can actually convert any P226 (Elite, stainless, MK25, Epic rainbow checkerplate, etc..) to the E2 grips. You just need to find the kit (Again, I think Questar has it). All you'll need to do is remove old grips, depress mainspring housing, replace it and use the provided shorter mainspring guide, slip new grips on; et voilà :)

I love the base grips and the E2, but I have large hands and both fit me. I'd check Questar ASAP as they have 15% off all in stock items right now, with a coupon code on their site.

They have 1 Sig 226 in 40 and 1 in 9mm in stock, both have E2 and night sights. $1085 - 15%= $922.25 (great price for these).
