Just picked up a Sig 2022 in .40cal from the EE, thought I would show the difference between the two.

Both are in .40cal and have a polymer frame, both use the same mags and appear to use the same grip. The slides appear to be identical. The main difference are in the polymer frame. the 2340 was the predecessor to the 2022 and used a Sig designed rail as opposed to the standard rail on the 2022. The frame on the 2340 is made in Switzerland and the 2022 in Germany (still want to say West Germany, but I date myself)

This 2340 is DAO and I believe it was a police gun from the Quebec police force. The 2022 is DA/SA. The 2340 trigger pull is looonng but very smooth, the 2022 is similar to a 226. However the reset on both is considerable.

The 2340 shoots well, but the trigger takes a lot of getting used to, I am told it's similar to a revolver DA trigger. haven't had a chance to try out the 2022 yet. As for holsters, my Tagula Pancake for the 229 works and I will get a Serpa for it from fleabay. I see Fobus and others make holsters for it as well. A interesting feature for each pistol is that the hammerbox is removable as a unit.

very nice indeed, I like your twin SIGs Pro !
I have the SP 2022 in 9mm and it's a very accurate gun and NOT snappy at all.
BTW I've installed a stainless recoil spring rod and now respond better at re'acquiring the targets, being a little bit front heavier.
I saw that your DAO 2340 has a stainless bbl a bit longer then 2022 ..is that right?

Thanks for the fobus review, killed that thought right quick! Wolftrack, yes the 2340 barrel is a bit longer.

Shot the 2022 this weekend, in between teaching my daughter how to shoot. This is a great gun!! Feels a lot like shooting my 229 for about 50% less! I was reliably hitting a 5" gong at 25m, I suspect it could do better yet. I can easily recommend one these to someone wanting a Sig but can't afford a 226 or 229.
