Sig 2340 price

LOL, because real guns are made of metal . and most sigs frames are aluminum a few models are steel. the steel compared to the alum. frames are quite a jump too. pretty much the more you pay the better it gets. those sigpro series guns are pretty decent, they are NOT a bad gun at all.so dont think they are junk. the ones dlask are selling are good . they are DAO, 40, and have an aftermarket barrel. and show lots of wear and abuse imho, but will function beautifully.
no you can get a metal gun for around the same price. but your looking norc's

but in my eyes the sig p-series you really cant beat. they are expensive, but that just keeps the riff-raff away. ;)

Does it really cost that much less to manufacture a polymer frame than a metal frame? Why not split the difference and use Metal Injection Molding or Cast Aluminum?
If you make a frame out of MIM or cast aluminum, it will crack in no time.

Sig Pro is cheaper than the P22x guns for a number of reasons. Cost of manufacture is one of them. Machining a forged alloy frame is more expensive/ time consuming than molding it out of polymer. Also, the fit and finish on the Sig Pro is not quite as nice as on their classic pistols.

Another reason for the price discrepancy is marketing. The Sig Pro was meant to compete with cheap guns like Glock and Springfield XD, while the P22x guns are positioned as more upscale models.

I guess I'll weigh in, I own a sig pro 2022 in .40 and I find it an excellent shooter. The accuracy is first rate and I have never had any reliability issues. I have only owned it a year however round count is nearing 1000, and some of it in fridgid -20 temps. The frames are german made and the slides are marked sigarms usa. It comes new with two grip sizes, and other than the cost of mags ($50) which isn't that bad, I have no complaints. I ordered mine from Wolverine Supplies and I found them excellent to deal with.
