Good day to you all - is the Sig 522 going to be available in Canada ? I guess the title should say CAN you guys get it , crossing my fingers .

Just looking for some information for my BIL in Toronto .
Thanks in advance ,

I raised a bit of a stink after finding out the m&p 15 .22 is most likely coming in restricted, that might be the case with this one as well, questar will be bringing them in once they are classified.

Some are under the impression this can only be classified as prohibited or non-restricted, but that line of thinking is only valid if you believe rcmp will play by the rules.....

Stay tunned

Bull####...The legal definition of a restricted firearm is definitive. A firearm is either named by Order in Council as restricted or it meets the physical characteristics required for its classification.

There are ony 2 possibilities here, it's either non-restricted or prohibited.

It has nothing to do with the RCMP "playing by the rules". The RCMP's job is to enforce existing law, not to create it.

hey 2bad4u2 how long have you had your pal? I would wager that no more than 3 months, the rcmp can and will do what they want and you don't have to be a nut to believe that.

I want it as much ad you but I'm not as naïve as you.

IF ... an FRT should be issued and these "tacticool" .22's make their way through customs and into some of our mitts .. I'm more than inclined to pay for both the Sig 522 and the M&P 15/22 ... Regardless of classification ... Although we all know these would be the most beautiful additions to the non-res. side of the safe!!!

Well... I'm 'Some' in this post.

The fact is the RCMP CANNOT make this a restricted. Its impossible, and if they did, it would be so easy to challenge.
