SIG 552 mags?

I wonder why they wouldn't accept those mags as being ok? Doesn't sound like your mags were any differently pinned than mags that can be bought in Canada.

I pointed that out to the guy from Customs. He said that they follow D Memos, not Canadian law. I had told him that the mags were perfectly legal in Canada and that the plastic swiss arms mags were pinned the same way. He maintained that to come in the country they needed to meet Customs' method of blocking, which is much more stringent than the law. It was very frustrating as they would not budge on the issue. Gotta love bureaucrats making their own laws.

I don't think you are right. Licensed importers who are licensed to handle prohibited items bring in the 30's and pin them here in Canada. If by dealer you meant a dealer who isn't properly licensed to do so, then yes.

You Are Wrong I do some work for a Company that handles prohibitive devices IE Magazines and other products .Dealers cannot import unaltered magazines and modify them to meet the Canadian commercial market because it is illegal period there are no exemptions given .The only way for Dealers to have Canadian compliant Magazines enter Canada requires that they be modified prior to Export from the country of origin.

Once the unaltered magazine enters Canada the Magazine is entered into the inventory and is recorded by the company and is to be sold to authorized end users IE:,Law Enforcement and Government Agency's. If you are thinking that this system could be easily circumvented think again remember that all imports of unaltered magazines are approved by DFA and the numbers of units are stated on each import permit .Easy for the CGD/RCMP/CFC to track in there annual audit to find out where the missing inventory went if they just disappeared the owner gets charged with a multitude of CC offences.
