So the americans have finally done it. They have hounded SIG into giving
them their own version of SG550. But is it? I've heard so many times in this forum, that if SIG does come up with variation, then it will NOT be SG550, but something different altogether. Now they have it, I must say, I don't love the design, with AR type stock and that raised rail on top...

Does anyone know whether SIG 556 is the copy of SG550, or different animal by design? Sure it's only a rifle, but I hate to give it to americans one thing we have they don't :redface:

The sad part about it is they are only available to MIL/LE. There will be no civie sales. That's what they said at SHOT.

:confused: Where did you hear that? The whole point of the 556 is that it is a new CIVVIE rifle.
