Sig 55X Rifle Series Explained

Is it just me or the RCMP is going to use this as evidence for review on all SA black special/classic green's legality?

How do you figure?

This video has been around long enough that if that were the case they would already be doing so. Besides the black/green special SAN rifles found on this side of the pond were made for the Canadian market and are kitten tame compared to those 55x series :p.

Very brief, but excellent quick history lesson on the 55X serious of rifles. Thanks, I had not seen this before.

My pleasure. If you notice the barrels don't have the integral flashhider and the 553-US is in the background dating this to be recent enough. Makes me wonder if factory non integral flashhider barrels that allow for threading and attachment of aftermarket muzzle devices will be hitting the market in the next few years.

So the question is where and how can I buy the 553 one?

553-US is currently unobtainium.

The Canadian version is the CQB with the 553 gas system. There is one on the EE and has been sitting there for a bit, it's priced on the high end. Otherwise I believe Calgary Shooting Center has a few, new of course.

The Swiss guy looks like he keeps human heads in his freezer

Well yeah - where do you keep yours?

Re; "Is it just me or the RCMP is going to use this as evidence for review on all SA black special/classic green's legality?" - there is no way they can do that, the 55x is prohib by name, that's why they aren't sold in Canada - we get basically a previous version of the rifle that can never be a variant because it preceded the banned rifle.
