I would like to know if the Black special/Classic green SIG rifles are well suited for long range shooting (600 m). I know their 20'' barrels are 1:10 (.223 caliber) inches. Any info would help me spending 3K

Here's my $0.02..A 1:10 twist will not stabilize the heavier bullets, i.e. 68gr and up, that you need for the longer ranges. Even the 62 gr SS109 bullets are marginal for proper stabilization. You'll be restricted to 55gr bullets and possibly commercial 62-63gr bullets. IMHO, the barrel config is good for up to 300 y/m with the 55gr loads. I'll probably get flamed by guys stating that they successfully shot their 55gr loads out to 600y. However, a little bit wind will blow your bullets all over the place :p

Should i go with an AR instead. The only things that bothers me with the AR is that's restricted.... can't bring it varmint hunting...
