I just saw that Sig has a Cross model they have made per requests for Born and Raised Outdoors that has a longer 24 inch barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor, a fixed Arca and a stippled angled polymer foreend.

Anyone know if that foreend can be mounted on the regular cross models?

It's hard to see in the pictures, but I'm guessing it slides on to the Arca rail machined into the Arca Foreend... Some Polymer for cold weather insulation makes a lot of sense.

It was interesting to here feedback here on CGN from guys winter hunting with the Cross model and having frozen bolts due to snow/sleet and rain collecting in the trough to the rear of the bolt and funnelling into the action. It's pretty easy to see how it could be an issue. I wonder if Sig has any fixes in mind?

Looks like they are available in Canada for around $3300.00 plus tax/shipping.

It's an accessory, you can buy them separately for Cross rifles without. Mlok attachment.

For example: www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/8900838

Thanks Mikeyb, I was hoping maybe it was a Sig accessory but for some reason Sig info was not that easy for me to find online today, even their web page was not working for me. Good news is it attaches via Mlok and not Arca.

Midwest has quite a few sig cross parts available for sale by the looks of it, when I look at MD Charlton's inventory they don't show anything for the Cross model.

It looks like MD Charlton is still the sig distributor in Canada, so I will ask them what accessories are available in Canada.

Seems like a rifle nobody asked for, the appeal of the sig cross is the shorter length and lighter weight. Lots of long barrel heavy options out there in this price point

Well clearly someone asked for it given it was a special run for Born and Raised, I would guess they are in to long range shooting and think a longer barrel in 6.5 makes sense.

I was mostly stoked to see the accessory handguard, Sig should just include it with the Cross right out of the box.

They think they are since they seem to have made a connection with some Marines who do sniper training. Now they seem to have no issue flinging shots at ranges that they have no business shooting at. Not being an old man yelling at clouds, I have no problem with LR hunting, but it takes a lot of practice, and I haven't seen any evidence of that watching them. I used to have a lot of time for the Born and Raised crew, but they seem to have gone the way of the instafluencer crowd.

I had never heard of them before and agree with you 100%. What caught my eye was the stippled polymer fore arm accessory that looks like a good way to help get your front hand shielded from the cold aluminum in the fall/winter.

The current trend to want to take a long shot just for the hell/challenge of it using range finders, ballistic apps and in some cases advanced scopes with both built right in is not in keeping with traditional ethical hunting, but technology has a way of pushing limits and boundaries. That said if a guy wants better ballistics with a 6.5 Creedmoor a longer barrel makes sense, and practising at long range on paper and gongs is a good way to increase your skills at 400 yards which is still plenty long enough for most hunting scenarios.
