I've got less then 100 rounds through my 308 Cross and the accuracy leaves something to be desired. The best it's done so far is a 1.25 inch group at 100 yards with Federal Premium SMK's 168 gr.
The other groups were as bad as 4 inches with PMC 147 gr. FMJ.
The load I'd like to work with out of the 16 inch barrel would be 165 or 168 grain Barnes TSX bullets. It certainly liked the 165 weight the best.
Federal and Rem 180 gr. Soft points were around 2.5 inch groups.
Which powder would you suggest? I have H335 available in my area and I have a bunch of H380 already. IMR 4196 is available as well.
Also how far off the rifling would be a good start?
