I have a friend who has a Sig 226 Tacops with the "faux mag funnel" grips. He wants to go with the smaller E2 grips.
Does anyone happen to know if the TacOps already has the hammer strut and decocker the E2 grips need?

Mods if this should have under gunsmithing feel free to move. But thought this question wasn't exactly "gunsmithy".

I believe the Tacops has the E2 mainspring housing already. Not sure about the decocker, but all that typically comes with the E2 grip. It is not hard to install. You shouldn't need a gunsmith.
FWIW, I did not love the E2. Definitely slimmer if that is what he needs but left a void in the palm, with my double hand grip style anyway. To me it is only useful if you like to start off in DA.

Buddy has small hands so the E2 might work for him.

Never heard of E3 grips until this post. Google suggests they have the faux mag well. Correct? Are they slimmer?

I had a TacOps 226 that I put E2 grips on. I needed to change the mainspring housing and hammer strut. Much preferred the E2 grips, and I have large hands.

The magwell is removable if it comes with it. E3 fit me the best. Came with my German LDC 2. Only way I'd go but I don't have small hands. The double stack limits how small you can go. E2 are more round (and feel wierd). I like a bit of oval for more control

I had the same experience, and I’ve got small hands. I really liked the texture of the grip but that’s all—they also exacerbate the already-high bore axis too. I’ve tried six different types of grips on the P226s I’ve owned and they were my least favourite. I installed a Grayguns trigger in mine a couple of years ago and the change in trigger geometry was all I needed to get a better purchase on the trigger.

As a follow-up... Buddy already had the new strut and mainspring on his TacOps. He put on E2 grips and so far is pleased.
