I have a Sig and love it. Have you shot the P320 and if so what caliber did you shoot it in? Did you like it? Would you recommend it or another Sig? I have the 226 classic 22lr and I am wondering I should just do a barrel swap or buy the P320 the price difference is about $200 or less for the p320 and I have a whole new gun. The barrel swap would be all in around $400 give or take. Tell me your thoughts

I own several Sigs. My fav gun is a P226 and I have several thousand rounds through it. I am a traditionalist when it comes to small arms and I have resisted as long as I could to move to the 21st century but eventually I started looking for a polymer framed partially pre-tensioned striker pistol. I have tried the Glock and the S&W M&P, both very good pistols but they didn't do it for me. Then I tried the P320 and I bought one on the spot. That being said, the P320 is nothing like a P226. They are two radically different pistols. But I think Sig hit it right with the P320. It sits low in my hand, I have a very good grip and I like the trigger pull and the recoil and how I can take up quick follow-up shots.
With regards to your question about barrel swap, I am myself not a fan of it. Once my pistol is right where I want it and runs smoothly and reliably and hits where i want it to hit, I don't like making changes to it and having to start all over again and build up confidence. If I want a different set-up or caliber I would rather have a complete other pistol.
I hope this helps you.

I HATE it because it caused me $50! Well, :) . it's partially my own fault though. Basically the you-get-what-you-pay-for applies to this to the T.

I shot it during my club membership qualification shoot. At the time, I didn't realize there would be passing score(7 yards, 10 out of 10 on a letter size paper), being a complete newbie and all other club guns I had shot during practices were old guns with smoothed out triggers, so when the qualification shoot came, I picked out this brand new P320 9mm without thinking, the trigger was stiff and my trigger control was bad, as a result, I got one flyer and had to re-take the test with a old glock 21 45ACP which I passed without any issues. After that, I bought my own P226 extreme 9mm which has the SRT trigger out of the box, both brand new, but the triggers are night and day. very easy to get tight group with the extreme. So, even though right now I should have no problem shooting P320, for polymer guns, I would rather just get my M&P and/or Glock upgraded with better triggers, or go with a Walther PPQ M2 which has much better trigger and just a little more money than P320.

I shot SIGs for the last 20+ years now and my top favorite always will be the P226 series....!
Regarding the new SIG P320 (after I've shot one my friends) found that has a strange grip angle, not so good trigger, way too light for recoil....also striker fired guns are "not my cup of tea"....
