Anyone here have one or have experience with one?
Looking at one as my first restricted.

I could be wrong but I think an actual M11 pistol is very hard to come across but it is possible to get a P228 with a restricted length barrel. I believe the 228 has a prohib length barrel.

M11A1's are available from Questar, with a Canadian legal barrel. Same as a P228 without a rail. Same as a P229 without a rail.

Good choice! Got a 229 in 9, haven't fired it yet, waiting on club/ATT. Can't wait!

I have one and like it very much. It's a bit of a gimmick though as these are not the military issued M11's.You are basically getting a current P229;stainless slide, with the phosphated internals, night sights and of course the railless frame. Oh and of course the simulated military sticker on the side and grips marked 228.
I wanted one because I like the railless frame and I prefer night sites. In essence though it's just a P229 so if the seller is not asking for a huge premium it's worth it to have something a little different with some extra "features" but it's not going to perform any better than a regular 9mm 229.

The M11A1 is a proposed gun for the US Army, there haven't been any orders (yet) the original M11 is a true P228 with phosphate finish.

Nice firearm but it's the same as the P229 pretty much. Execpt the fancy name and some parts. But if you can get a good deal on one go for it! Can't beat a Sig

I had P229R Equinox. I finally had to admit that i can't put my hand around the grip enough for a good hold. I had to trade it. I got a P239 in 9mm, wish it was in 40SW. I've been eyeing the M11A1, but if the receiver is a P229 without rails, i won't be able to grip it either. I wish it was a single stack receiver.
