It was my greatest disappointment today… My new SIG Mosquito .22LR break down! The slide (close to the muzzle side) breaks in two parts as shown on the photos bellow. Probably weak metal or maybe poor quality?! But six shooters witnessed this strange break down. Have send it back to SIG for replacement.

How many rounds down pipe? That is a disappointment, that was one of the few .22 pistols I really liked/considered buying (looks mean a lot to mean, for a pistol since its restricted practicality doesnt mean SH*T when it only sees the range). Keep us informed on what happens, you ok as well?

New pistol, fired less than 1000 rounds - Federal... Great gun but wtf  I am ok. Just got e-mail back from the store - they taking it back for replacement under one year waranty.

Take a look closely near break down section – it has air bubbles, and it’s a sign of poor metal quality and machinery of the slide…

Not the first one to go like that! These are a poorly made gun, not worthy of the Sig name. I wonder if they are making them or have contracted with another firm to do them?

I wasn't too happy at first with my Mosquito but a supply of Minimags has got it going where I wanted it to and reliably. I still wish it wasn't such a finicky firearm though. Initially, a box of Federal American Eagle gave me a lot of grief. I hope your issue gets resolved.

From what I've heard the sig mosquito is a super solid .22, albeit a little picky on ammo. I'm sure this was just a 1:1000 manufacturing fluke. Hopefully they replace ur sig with a brand new one and you get a lifetime out of it.
