Sig MPX to non-restricted

Can the 9mm Sig MPX be converted to a 18.5 inch barrel to make it NR. I’m asking this as my googlefu is weak.

I don’t think it’s classed as an AR Variant, iirc.

MCX, on the other hand, is considered an AR variant and restricted by name.

Now the handguard already exists for a 16 inch barrel. Who would produce a new 18.5 for the MPX. Nirvana?

I’d be curious to know if we could get those barrels that had long, multi chamber muzzle breaks that some said looked like the internal baffles on suppressors... are those a no go up here?

Only if it a initially registered as a carbine, if pistol it’s a no go.

MPX is classified as a "Commercial Version", regardless of features, which is why there are no pistol magazines available. So yes, if it had pinnochio disease it would be NR.

You buy them as restricteds then send them to Herron Arms for a rebarrel. Not cheap, but worth it.
