OK so I've had my Sig P220 TB for a few months and I haven't really been able to shoot it much but everytime I go out and shoot it, it has feeding and jamming issues. It seems like the mags are the problem. The first couple of rounds are really tight and hard to get outta the mag, but once a few rounds have been cleared its fine, maybe the springs are to new? I left the mags fully loaded for a month and it still has jamming issues. I thought Sigs were ultra reliable? Its so unreliable that I dont keep it loaded at home for home defense, I'd rather just throw the gun at the criminals and grab something else to use. Any thoughts?

A lot of us have had issues with stiff, difficult to load stock Sig mags. There are a couple of threads on here about that. (Also on the Sig forum if you know about that one). One recommendation was to remove the follower and carefully use a fine grit sandpaper to allow it to move more freely, & give the mags a good cleaning in case there is manufacturing residue or gunk in there. Then over time they will likely get smoother.

I'm doing that and also I just ordered some nice nickle mags directly from MecGar as I couldn't find the nickle ones here. Took me 3 minutes on the website as they are Canada user friendly. I have found that if you look around you can find anything you need at a supplier in the US that will ship to Canada (Within the bounds of the law etc. etc.) No duty, just GST, PST assesed by Canada Customs as per packing slip or invoice amount and a $5.00 "mystery" handling charge.

By the way my 226 is heavy enough to take out any 2 home invaders just by throwing it.
Good luck
Mike

I should change my location since I dont live in Vancouver anymore hahaha but all my guns and myself are located in the states now. I just like CGN because everyone is very knowledgable and the forum is very user friendly. Maybe I should start an americangunnutz.com hahaha

what a bummer! still waiting for mine. now I'm concerned. its rated practically unbreakable, 20000 rnd (Military) testing instead of the usual 10000, 240 hr salt spray, extreme corr. res. coating etc. plus i watched a video showing a large excavator bucket crush it, truck and tank drive over it, burned, frozen, fired under water, submerged in mud & with mud in the mag & still didn't miss a beat.
I hope smoothing out the follower a little, solves it. Did you call SIG maybe they seen this before? I've found that keeping mags loaded doesn't do anything but weaken the tension in time... I stoped doing it.
Note: One more thing Do not take this the wrong way, sometimes the gun doesn't complete its full cycle if the trigger is not completly let go. It happened with my eagles & sig 226 & 220 man I was pissed! This gun smith watched me shoot it and new exactly what was happening. I wasn't releasing the trigger all the way between shots, holding in the trigger slack to compensate for recoil, quicker time tighter groups, etc. Anyway it worked. Having that knowledge its never happened again shooting as fast as humanly possible or normal . Again, not trying to offend you, just had the same experience with brand new good guns.
